As a Master of Social Work student at San Jose State University, my personal perspective on therapy is rooted in a deep respect for the interconnectedness of individuals and their environments. I view therapy as a holistic and relational process - one that honors the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Grounded in the ecosystems perspective, I understand that true healing must consider the complex interplay of personal experiences, social systems, and cultural identities. My approach to therapy is collaborative , client-centered, and strengths-based. I strive to walk beside the person - supporting their journey as they explore their story, reclaim their voice, and reconnect with their own resilience. I believe that meaningful growth happens when people truly feel seen, heard, and supported. My own mental health journey has taught me the power of presence, compassion, and authenticity, and it drives my belief that human life and well-being must always come first. As a student, I deeply value growth, learning, and self-reflection - continuously striving to expand my capacity to support others with humility and care. As Brene Brown says, "Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity, and change." And as Maya Angelou so beautifully reminds us, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." These words guide me to lead with empathy, courage, and integrity in every aspect of my practice.
