Discovery currently has a need for 4 Practicum Students.
Discovery maintains a staff of licensed and prelicensed therapists to provide services to our community. If you are in a masters degree Marriage and Family Therapy or a Clinical Social Worker program, or have a degree in either of these programs and are registered as an intern with the State of California you are eligible to serve your internship at Discovery Counseling Center.
Discovery is a faith-based center, and though we do not have a religious agenda, we do seek to live out a faith of care and compassion. We believe God loves people, all people and we want to exercise that in the way we bring health and healing to our community.
Reasons to consider Discovery
- Discovery has three licensed and certified supervisors on staff.
- Discovery provides two weekly groups supervision sessions on different days to fit your schedule and at no cost to you.
- All positions are paid. Students receive $8 per face-to-face client hours, and interns receive a percentage of client fees.
Our Expectations of you
- Students must maintain 5 face-to-face coulseling sessions per week, and at least two of these hours must be in a community prject.
- Interns must maintain 10 face-to-face counseling sessions per week.
- Students and interns must attend an hour staff meeting and a 2 hour group supervision session each week, and volunteer at at least 1 marketing event each year.
