Healthy Families
Many families are unable to provide mental health insurance for their children and make too much to qualify for Medi-Cal. Healthy Families is an answer for many of these families.
Healthy Families provides high quality, comprehensive health care coverage to those who do not have access to, or are not able to purchase, good health care at an affordable price.
Qualifications?
For a child to be eligible, he or she must be
- a U.S. citizen or legal immigrant ----------> (A seperate Healthy Kids program can provides services for nonlegal immigrants.)
- be under the age of 19
- be a California resident
- not be covered by Medi-Cal
- not have been covered by private health insurance during the past three months
- be a member of a family whose annual income falls within the prescribed guideline, which currently is no more than 250% of the Federal Poverty Level; the guideline is a sliding scale dependent on the size of the family and the age of the child.
