How is Christian counseling different?

All therapists at Discovery Counseling Center are Christians who hold a traditional Christian world view. However, they seek to treat all who come to the center with respect and dignity without regard to their religious or ethnic background.

Christian counseling is different.

As a general rule, both Christian counseling and secular counseling share the same desire to help people overcome their problems, find meaning and joy in life, and become healthy and well-adjusted individuals, both mentally and emotionally.

Christian counselors add another dimension to counseling in that they can help you look at your physical, mental and emotional experiences from a biblical perspective, if you desire. The biblical world view then becomes a common and shared focal point in thinking through the issues that are troubling you.
