Randall Ramírez is a resident of Gilroy and has over 30 years of experience treating children, adolescents and families impacted by a wide range of emotional disorders, health-related illnesses, and environmental stress. He recently served as Clinical Director at Rebekah Children’s Services in Gilroy where he provided agency-wide and community professional development / training plus leadership in promoting mental health initiatives and contracts. He is currently a therapist and consultant in private practice at Discovery Counseling Center in Morgan Hill.
Mr. Ramírez was on faculty at the School of Social Work, San José State University, where he lectured on a variety of subjects including psycho-pharmacology, adolescent development, cultural competency and health/mental health policy. He is a regular speaker at state and national conferences on the subject of integrating culture and spirituality into mental health practice, as well as building sustainable school-mental health partnerships. He also chairs a local study workgroup on childhood attachment disorders.
Mr. Ramírez graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1979 with a Masters degree in Social Welfare and is licensed in California both as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist.
